Rose Colored Shades

Over the past few weeks, my life has seemed to fall into the Groundhog Day Routine. What I mean by this is my life feels like that Bill Murray movie where he wakes up and every day is exactly the same. Furthermore, I've noticed that I've been complaining about EVERYTHING! So, I've decided I'm really sick of complaining....something needs to change... I need to change. My English Teacher assigned us this novel, and my logic won't make sense until I explain it. Just hang in there. There is a point in the book where one character is working to convince the main character to do something that she knows isn't right. She replies by basically saying that the commandments (like the ones that tell you to be grateful) are not just for our times of convenience. And if they were... what would be their worth? What I have realized is that being grateful isn't just a commandment for my convenience. It's not just for the times when everything seems so unalterably perfect. In fact, just the opposite, when we look at life, it's so easy to see that life really is unalterably perfect, despite the little imperfections we let get in our way.

Update of my Life! AAAAHH!

Because this is a kind of journal, I feel like I should keep it updated (which I haven't done such a good job of lately.) So, I'll just debrief and then fill in the fuzzy details later. Today, I got my grades (4.0). (P.S. I got a 96 on my Pre-Calc final) This is proof to all of the cynics in the world, miracles exist today too! Tonight my mom and I went to the most amazing speaker, Judy Brummer. This incredible woman had the oppurtunity to translate the Book of Mormon into her native language. (I can't remember what it was called or how it was spelled, but it's supposed to be the most challenging language on the face of the earth.) Last night for Halloween, a few people came over and hung out. It was really fun! We've had early morning practices (at the school by 6) almost every day this week. Tomorrow's the last one this week! woo-hoo! Oh yeah, the Drill Halloween party was last week. *This is something else that I'll have to tell you about later. The Stake Dance was that night too and it was a blast. Sorry this was so hazy, but I have to be up at 5, and I'm REALLY tired!
