SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?

American Idol is over, and Cook has been crowned (woo-hoo!), but no worries, I'm not having withdrawals. This last week Season 4 of
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE
premiered. The try-outs began in L.A. and next week they start up in Salt Lake City:) Okay, so I may be a little more partial to the show after dancing with Benji this last November, but dancer or not, everybody should watch it! It's so entertaining, and amazing to watch the kinds of tricks that people can pull out!:)

Last Chance:)

Last night, we went to the Last Chance dance and had an absolute blast! We started the evening by making pizzas at my house and eating them outside. We then headed to the Arts Park for the dance. While in line for pictures, Rachel borrowed the car keys to go get something (I assumed her wallet, but no). We got our pictures taken, which by the way, were posed really cool:) We had tons of fun showing off our moves at the dance, and then were ready to head out. As we all walked to the car... it was GONE! Let's just say, I was slightly frightened and confused (to say the least). A. Everybody else agreed that I had parked in the place, where now sat an empty parking space, and B. Who in their right mind would steal a blue minivan when we were parked right next to a white mustang. About 5 minutes later Rachel fessed up and admitted that she moved the car as a joke when she went back to the car. Let's just say I've found some other jokes way funnier than that. We headed to Fat Cats and went bowling. It was kind of hilarious to see everybody's unique bowling styles... yeah, we'll just leave it at that. To finish off the night, we headed over to Hogi Yogi for dessert, where we kind of got into an ice fight. (:You kind of had to be there to comprehend:) It was so fun! Here are some pictures of our group! Thanks for comin' with me Chad! It was so much fun:) Enjoy!

At one point, I had a funny face too, but I ended up laughing too hard to keep a straight face:)

Chad and Me with our orange hats! haha

Let's just say this is basically how it was all night. :)

Twilight the Movie!

Okay, so I think by now most of you know that I am absolutely obsessed with Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. It's been a long time coming for a film, and finally the official trailer is out! Personally, I think Henry Cavill (who they originally wanted for Edward) looked a little more like Edward, but tell me what you think:

We Miss You Britt!

This last Friday, Britt Dalley, a senior at SHS had a seizure while driving home.  He crashed into a house, but miraculously walked away with only a bitten tongue.  To find out what caused the seizure, they checked Britt out and found a brain tumor.  While in surgery a few days later, the large egg-sized tumor was completely removed, but Britt had a stroke during the surgery.  On Tuesday night, Britt had another stroke, and yesterday afternoon, he passed away.  Within a week, we were all reminded how short and precious our time on earth is.  Although I don't believe I ever talked with Britt personally, we knew many of the same people, and he touched many lives.  Last night a prayer meeting was held.  It was first intended for praying that Britt would get better, but turned into a meeting for everybody to unite and to remember Britt.  At school, many people wore their Sunday best to show love and respect for Britt.  It never ceases to amaze me how much one person means to so many people.  Our love and prayers go out to the Dalley family, and Britt will be very missed!

SHS Dance Co.

This last Monday, Dance Company try-outs were held at the school. I'm really excited to say that I made it, and I am really looking forward to Dance Company this next year. I already know what you are thinking... It's true I'm a mad woman. I'm a little addicted to Dance, but there are a few critical differences between the two that make me really excited to be doing both. 1st of all Dance Co. is more artsy (if you will) where Drill is sports aspect of Dance. Dance Co. doesn't compete, but we get chances to choreograph, learn from guests, attend dance performances elsewhere, and so on. It's been a long time since I've been able to dance modern and contemporary since Drill doesn't really do that. I'm so so so excited! Hope you guys can make it out to one of Dance Co.'s shows next year:)

D'Velles '08-'09 Historian:)

We recently held elections for Drill officers with the new team. I really wanted Historian... it will give me an excuse to scrapbook:) The next day, our adviser Mrs. A sent flowers to all of the new officers to let them know, and I GOT HISTORIAN!!! The rest of the new officers are as follows: Kris and Syd, Drill Mistresses; Bre, President; Katie, Vice President; Ashby, Secretary; and Taren, Public Relations. I'm really excited for this next year. We've got a great team, and some great new additions this year! GO D'VELLES!

P.S. If you have any great scrapbooking ideas, send them to me! I'm in need of some cute ones:)
